Missing Texts but appear when searched

I recently crushed an iPhone 15 that had been backed up nightly. I have now switched to an iPhone 16 and setup from the backup. However I have an entire month of missing texts in October. I can manually search for the people who sent the texts and then all of a sudden they show up in the list. We are in the hurricane damage and many of the texts were people needing help. So they weren’t added to contacts so searching for them is impossible.

So the texts are in the backup but just not showing.
