Mail always saying a password is wrong but it is not

specifically my microsoft email addresses are not syncing the passwords or something similar. the password I enter is correct but it constantly asks over and over. If i respond and enter too many time its locks me out of outlook but doesn't tell me and allows me to keep trying (now the password is clearly not reaching microsoft!!!! this is insane that a trillion dollar company cannot provide email access. this is 1990's tech!

I am getting password errors too with mac mail. Yahoo just doesn’t work any more on my 2012 iMac and Gmail is giving me errors on my imac, ipad mini 5 and my iphone 16. Gmail keeps giving me password errors despite resetting the passwords multiple times. I have had it with mac mail and have switched over every thing to Edison mail. It is a bit of a pain to setup but seems to be handling all 5 of my email accounts with no problem so far.

Remove the email address from Mail, then re-enter it back into Mail using the appropriate option for the email address.

It might be that the software is out of date and you might have to resort to using Gmail in a browser rather than a email Client like Mail.
