Should I sell my iPhone 16 pro because of earpiece issue or wait for an software update??

My iPhone 16 Pro has an issue with the earpiece volume being too low, and the sound is too sharp with no bass at all! It has been a frustrating experience since day one.

If it were me, I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar and have an Apple Technician run diagnostics. That phone is still under warranty and this sounds like a hardware issue.

I have an iPhone 16 Pro and it has no problems with volume, so it would not appear to be a software issue unless it's an obscure bug only affecting devices of a very specific configuration or country.


Forgive what may be a dumb question on my part, but is this issue only during phone calls, or is the volume low all the time? If only during phone calls, have you tried turning up the volume while actually on a call? If you turn up the volume setting at other times, that doesn't change the volume when on a call, only on alerts or for other apps.

Have you tried comparing with a different device? Apple should have many where you can compare the results. I have seen no reports where an update would fix the issue you described. In any case, if you are not happy with the device, it would be better to return it then wait for a software update that might not even resolve the problem you are experiencing.
