iPhone Mirroring worked, then stopped working

I started using iPhone Mirroring as soon as it came out, and it was working great. Very useful!

Then it stopped working. I don't know of anything I changed at the point when it stopped. Now I start up the OSX app and it says "Unlock iPhone" very briefly (but correctly referring to my phone by name) and then switches to "Unable to Connect to iPhone". I have tried resetting both the phone (15 Pro) and the Mac (M3 MacBook Pro). Both are up-to-date as of yesterday. Both have WiFi and Bluetooth on, and they are both on the same WiFi network and logged into the same Apple ID. The phone appears correctly in the device list on my Apple account, and it is the only phone on that list. I can copy and paste between the two devices, AirDrop works in both directions, iMessage sharing works, phone calls from the computer via the phone work.

iPhone Mirroring does not.

What should I try, or how can I debug this further?

iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 18

I have found a solution that hopefully will work for others. To date I have tried the other suggestions of logging out of iCloud and turning things on off etc etc, in fact even reinstalled Sequoia to see if it was corrupted somehow but kept getting into a loop of being unable to connect until I unlocked the iPhone, which then gave an error saying phone in use and please lock it. Nothing has worked so far until...

Quit iPhone Mirroring. Locate the following area in Finder:

Macintosh HD / Users / {name} / Library / Containers /

and delete the folder

iPhone Mirroring

Launch iPhone Mirroring and hopefully you will see a Welcome Screen about getting started with iPhone Mirroring. Follow the prompts to allow access and a few clicks later you should be up and running.

I hope it works for you too.
