I would like to use the original box when sending in the M1 iMac that I traded in today. I know they will send a box, but if I use the original, I can send back the keyboard and trackpad, so that they can be e-waste appropriately.
Is there any problem with this?

If you don't already have a spare keyboard, I would recommend you keep that. You never know when one might to go bad, even without any spills or other obvious reason, and lock you out.
Rudegar- thanks for that. I called Apple and they said “No - you must use the trade-in kit box that we send to you”.
So - that is the definitive answer.
