bose soundtouch no longer plays using ios 18.1

I have a Bose Soundtouch 3 I’ve been using for three or four years with my iPhone. It’s worked the majority of the time using the Soundtouch app until I upgraded to iOS 18.1. Now, it find the Soundtouch but says Stopped on the Soundtouch display instead of Paused. It will no longer stream music from my iPhone 15 Pro Max since I upgraded to iOS 18.1 and 18.1.1.

Has Bose cut us off by no longer updating their firmware to be compatible with iOS? Has anyone found a way to make it work? I haven’t called Bose yet as I think they’d only try to sell me a new system I don’t need. I’ve only had the Soundtouch 3 for three or four years. It’s the one with a separate unit that sits underneath the radio/CD player and connects with that round plug. I tried resetting the Soundtouch and reconnecting. It connects again but still won’t play music. I even got the Soundtouch app for my iMac and tried getting it to play. It finds the Soundtouch but still won’t play from iTunes/Music. I got it to control the Soundtouch once by having it stream music from a web channel but that only worked once.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
