Thanks and would a 30 watt charger heat my phone more than the 20 watt?

The wattage of the charger should be at least the minimum wattage required for charging, but the charger and the iPhone will together negotiate the actual wattage (and voltage) delivered.

You might have a 30W charger or even a 200W charger for instance, but the charger might only be delivering 18W to the iPhone.

Again, the wattage (and voltage) delivered depending on what was negotiated.

There are certainly wrinkles here with USB-C connections including communications protocols supported, and around USB-C PD power delivery, including which particular cable is used. There are lower-spec wattages for cables, and there are higher-spec cables, and the charger, the cable, and the device will figure that out, within whatever range is supported by the parts wired together. Higher-wattage chargers will be limited by and won’t charge at those higher wattages through a too-low lower-spec cable, for instance.

But for this case, 30W is well within the lower-spec cables, and the charger and iPhone will figure this out amongst themselves.

TL;DR: this’ll work.
