Magic Keyboard different than original It is not appealing Because it is peeling.

I am in my second Magic Keyboard. My first was was 2.5 years old. No problems. Last year exactly 1 year ago, and the over is peeling dramatically. It is a 300 dollar keyboard. and the keys are also causing problems. simply not the quality. I love the keyboard when it works. So is there something i can resurface the keyboard to give it more life. Or do I have to find another alternative. Frankly Apple should be better than this.
