I’ve noticed this happens only when I’m working out but somewhat frequently when I am. My watch will run down and notify me that it’s at 10% and eventually shut down. But sometimes if I restart the watch it shows over 50% and then when I charge it, it ALWAYS jumps to a reasonably high % in a couple minutes. The watch apparently isn’t dead but acts like it is.

If the battery on your Apple Watch has never been replaced by Apple, and your Battery Health has dropped near or under 80% in Settings/Battery on your watch, you will need a battery service.

It seems like that there are issues With the battery
In order to rule out software issues please force restart your watch to see if the issues persist
Press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown until the screen turns black and the Apple logo reappears, then release both buttons. Your watch may take a few moments to restart.
There are a few things that use more battery life than others, for example streaming music, brightness and duration of the screen being on, LTE connection for data, if you have a cellular watch, just to name a few.
And of course the use of apps, like push/fetch for mail, text notifications, phone calls...
Thanks I have not done this before. But it doesn’t really explain why this happens only when I workout (and not every time) and the watch lasts more than a day otherwise. The battery drops from 100% to 0 in less than 30 minutes. Confusing and frustrating.
