Mac OS Sequoia update 15.1.1

Get message indicating update is available; currently showing Mac OS Sequoia 15.0.1; update attempt ends with a error requiring update, option to select alternate start up drive; not sure what to do

Try again from A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support


The current stable release of Sequoia including bug fixes, security updates is macOS 15.1.1

The original support message provided the solution; was getting error trying to update to sequoia 15.0.1 to 15.1.1; restarted in safe mode, ran upgrade w/ with no extensions at start up; upgraded successfully; took about 30 minutes, be patient, but successfully upgraded!

Tried this fix a couple of times (re-boot in safe mode) but still the same error message 'not enough free space'

This MacBook air is 2 days old, since buying. M3 256 GB version.


he target volume does not have enough free space to install.


An additional 1.58 GB of space is needed to install on this disk.
