Logic system overloads even after RAM upgrade

I am currently running Logic Pro on my 2017 Macbook Pro which I've just had upgraded to 16gb RAM and runs with OS Ventura. With any project I am currently working on I am consistently dealing with System overloads, whether recording or mixing. Some projects run better than others but some (I'm assuming because of plugins) I cannot get five seconds into playing back before the stupid system overload message eventually rears its stupid ugly head.

I've tried increasing the buffer size to 1024, bypassed plugins and tracks when recording and only run Logic solo apart form maybe Chrome. I've reduced the storage on my mac to 209gb out of 250. None of these have resolved the issue. The upgrade of the ram was an attempt to resolve it and when looking at activity monitor while running logic, the memory used doesn't come close to the 16gb.

I am at the later end of a sound engineering course and have downloaded a load of plugins to explore and wondered if that was maybe causing some issues but that doesn't make sense for the simpler projects that contain less tracks and plugins.

Also my fan is sounding like it's about to blast my laptop into Mars' orbit so there's obviously something going on, I'm just a bit stumped at this point and could use some help!!

In Logic Pro, load distribution among CPU cores is not handled well, especially when it comes to the mix bus. All plugins on one mixer track run on the same core. This still is the same for Mx processors, perhaps even worse, but here brute single core processing power compensates some of this. At the same time, NEON is slightly less powerful than SSE2.

As a workaround, look which plugin uses the most ressources. It is often something by Izotope. Try to replace this with another plugin. Stock plugins use far less power, but also are far less powerful, of course.
