Unable to add new Contacts on my MacBook Pro

I am using Ventura 13.7.1 on a Macbook Pro. When I try to add a new contact to Contacts, it closes out the entry before I've gotten much past the name. The App itself doesn't crash, but it won't let me add a new contact. Sometimes I get as far as 'Done' but the new contact is not created. I close the app to see if it needs to be refreshed. I look to see if the contact was created on my iPhone and will appear on my Macbook later. Nothing works. I do not want to not be able to create new contacts on my iPhone (altho that works).

Ah, after the previous experiment, suspected Google Services were involved

Have seen it suggested elsewhere

To avoid this issue

Create the new contact info on the iCloud account

Then and when needed

Drag that contact entry onto the Google Account

Repeat this process as needed for new entries

An aside but related

Google Services work well when used on Android devices

Apple Services work well on Apple Devices

Yes, taking the Macbook offline stopped the glitching - it works as expected. That is a very inconvenient way to add a contact. It used to be flawless.

I agree, totally 👍

Hate to bring this up but in good conscience we must

Is Contacts application using 1 Cloud Based Source or more than 1 ?
