Mail App is saying password wrong-what can I do?

My mail apps says I need to sign in again. I did but it says password is wrong. I went through every password and it's not working.

I tried to go to system preferences - internet accounts and tried from there still nothing.

I then signed into the web version of my email and reset the password. Then restarted my computer and it's still saying the password is incorrect.

I can't see any other options to reset a password or try to figure out what's going on.

Remove your email account and set it up again

  1. On your computer, sign in to your email provider’s website. Make sure that all of your email is there or make sure that your email is saved somewhere other than your device.
  2. On your device, go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
  3. Tap the email account that you want to remove.
  4. Tap Delete Account.
  5. Add your account again.

If these steps don't work, contact your email service provider for more information.
