Not receiving messages from FaceBook Messenger in iPhone

For the past month, I have not been receiving Facebook Messenger notifications. I've done everything I can think of...updating my phone, checking for FB updates, shutting down, reinstalling Messenger. It randomly was working and then it wasn’t again..until I check my phone then all the messages come through
