Preview crashes when adding a file

For many years now I have added PDF files to another PDF in Preview by dragging and dropping either from the icon on the file name or from the icon in the sidebar into the other file's sidebar without any problem. Since Sequoia, Preview has began to crash when I do this. I have also tried using the Edit->Insert->Page From File option, only for Preview to crash similarly.

Anyone else with the same problem?

I've opened the Get Info in the Finder, clicked on Open in Rosetta, and, for the time being at least, things are back to normal. I've also downloaded PDFGear, and that seems to work fine too.

I'm not seeing it. How big are the files you're moving around? In my experience Preview can be buggy with large files, especially TIFFs.

They're just small PDF receipts, often less than 100kB. In my accounting, I regroup the receipts by 10 bills so that they are easy to find and they follow the numbering system (entries) in my accounts. The PDFs of regrouped receipts are typically less that 5MB.
