I have two phones both under the same Apple ID. Is it possible to have both of them under the same ID but only have one connected to iCloud? All the articles I've read only told me to completely remove the device from my ID but I don't want that.
You can enable/disable iCloud sync in settings > Apple Account > iCloud
You can select the items that you wish to sync on each device in the settings path provided. Or, toggle off iCloud if you wish to not use it on device.
Eg. tap iCloud Drive and you'll see sync this iPhone. Toggle on/off as you wish.
That just disables iCloud as a whole -- I want to keep it on one phone but not the other, while they are both under the same ID
