explore page Algorithms on Insta AND Tiktok are broken, they have NEVER been connected, device or browser issue? PLEASE help!!!

At the beginning of October my Instagram explore page algorithm broke and has continued to fluctuate and act really funny, only showing a very narrow range of interests at a time, irrelevant content with very few likes, etc. reinstalling app (which is how you clear Instagram cache on iPhone), updating it, restarting phone, etc, clicking not interested on irrelevant stuff, etc. I chalked it up to an Instagram glitch- but then it happened again with a backup Instagram account I made specifically to test this. Meta verified was not able to help either.

And after a week now, the exact same thing is happening with tiktok, which I've only had for 2 weeks. It is not connected to my insta account in any way whatsoever, I have NEVER linked it, yet it's showing nearly IDENTICAL content to my instagram explore, stuff I used to search for 5 years ago when I didn't even have a tiktok.

This makes me think it’s not an app specific issue and instead is something with my phone or computer (I use the apps on my phone and login on google chrome my macbook) or something, and I know if I don’t find the root issue it’s gonna keep happening.

I know it sounds silly but I really am so impacted by this (I have a genetic neurological disease and use my phone as distraction when I Can't get out of bed) and I genuinely feel like I'm going crazy here.

I'll do or pay whatever to have this fixed. It's impacting my quality of life so badly, especially because it makes NO sense.

Unlikely an Apple issue. Meta’s algorithms have been wonky for a long time. And although Meta apps and TikTok aren’t the same they do gather info from sources like websites and searches you have done outside of the app (even when you have done every setting possible in Meta apps/sites to supposedly prevent that)…partially from info that Google readily collects and shares. Using Chrome makes that even more easy since Google still owns it as of right now. To be honest, I don’t know if there is a true fix for what you are looking for. Like I said, Meta algorithms definitely have been wonky for a long time. The issues you mention are something those 3rd party developers would need to fix
