My Apple Watch is showing that I have an unread message but I don’t.

My watch keeps saying I have 8 new texts but when I open my phone I don’t.

Apple Watch Ultra 2, watchOS 11

Just to make sure, you have checked the message apps on your watch as well?

If yes, did you try to force restart your watch by pressing and holding the Digital Crown and the Side button together for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?

Also force restart the iPhone:
