If you’re having issues with a third-party backup app, check for the latest version of the apps, and apply current update as available.
I’d also verify that a restore of your backups works when using third-party backup tools too, or similarly testing if you’re doing something unusual with macOS Time Machine backups. This if you’re planning on depending on that backup for a full restore.
If you are using macOS, Time Machine is built in, and is fully integrated. No need for external apps for that..
