I am currently a member of an iCloud Family Sharing plan with 2TB of storage and Apple Music. I recently purchased an additional 50GB for my own use. Can I switch to use this 50GB and share it with a separate family member, without losing my Apple Music membership? thanks.

You can only be a member of one family sharing group at a time. If you change families you cannot change again for another year. You should be able to retain your Apple Music membership as long as you either pay for your subscription independently, or are part of a family share plan where someone else is paying for it.
