I have an older Mac studio display with a power cord a MagSafe connection and a USB, but my newer MacBook Air only has c ports. What do I need to make it work together?
If the display has a thunderbolt 2 connector you can use a thunderbolt 2 to usb c. Make sure that mini display port is not the same as thunderbolt 2, the thunderbolt 2 to usb c cable is not working with a mini display port connector
That MagSafe is for older Mac machine - you can omit that.
I would suggest OWC 14 port Thuderbolt Dock
You can connect the dock to MB Air (by 1 cable, which provide data transfer and power to charge the laptop).
Then you can use dock's display port and USB port for your Cinema Display.
Does the L shape MagSafe have to be plugged into something?
