"Iphone xsmax Camera problem after update to ios.18.1.1: My iphone xs max after updated ios. to version 18.1.1 camera is stuck and can't be used. Does anyone have a solution or advice for me? When I use the camera, the screen is black and there is no response."

Troubleshooting a Black iSight Camera:

A. First, Go Here: If the Camera or Flash on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch isn't Working - Apple Support

B. Uncover the Camera:

Is there anything covering the camera? If so, remove it.

C. Close All Apps:

There may be Apps pending downloads in the background. So, save what need be, and then close all apps. Hold you finger down as you swipe up form the bottom-left corner of your screen. Then, close all of these open apps, by sweeping up quickly for all apps.

D. Perform a Force Restart:

Clarify a Few Things, Please:

When did this issue begin?? Did this start after an update? If so, it may be a glitch in the update. Does it ever turn back on? Is this intermittent?

Contact an AASP: 

Also, take this to an AASP (Apple Authorized Service provider), asking for assistance.

2. Click: Service & Support
3. Enter: your location information
4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to fix the Mac

Get this Diagnosed by Apple:

Take this in for a Genius Bar Appointment at your local Apple Store. Bring a proof pf purchase with you. There, it would be diagnosed, and you'd be provided with a cost.

Get this Serviced:

From what you've reported, I recommend you get this diagnosed and serviced. It seems to be nothing related to an update. So, it may be a hardware issue. Go directly through Apple, or through an AASP. I provided that information in my previous reply.

What exactly is stuck? Without specifics details it’s not possible to offer any solutions.
