Unable to EDIT Portrait Mode photos in OS Photos App- November 2024

Mac mini M1 2020, Sequoia 15.1.1, Photos Version 10.0 (711.0.180)

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18.1.1

The title states my exact problem. It's November 2024. I am unable to EDIT Portrait Mode photos in the OS Photos App. "Portrait" appears in the upper lefthand corner but when you click "Adjust" the edit options are as they were before Portrait Mode existed. I have been unable to edit any portrait mode depth of field on this Mac since I began taking portrait mode photos in 2021 with an iPhone 12 Pro. Those photos are unable to be edited that way and the photos from my 16 Pro similarly cannot be edited that way. I assumed that a complete update to everything would solve this problem but the option to edit has yet to appear. I’m only now realizing this is a problem other people are experiencing. Any help?
