iPhone 13 lightning port does not work sometimes

Wonder if anyone experienced similar issues. My iPhone 13 lightning port does not work with some accessories while my wife's iPhone 13PM and my company's iPhone 12 are both perfectly fine. For now, one SD card reader and one external battery pack work with other two devices without any issue. But my iPhone 13 could not recognize the card reader nor be charged by the power bank. 13 works with all other accessories as the other two iPhones most of time. I have hard booted my 13 a few times. The problems persist. so weird.

Or, forgot to mention. Neither iOS 17 or 18 made the difference on the issue. So, update to latest software does not solve the issue.

It could be one or more of these:

Either (1) your 13's lightning port may be dirty, check for signs of lint or dirt, swab it with a plastic or wooden toothpick, but be careful not to touch the metal contacts too much. Happens a lot especially if you keep it in your pocket and you're always on the go.

Or (2) your lightning port may have already "seen some things" and nearing the end of its life in which case, send it in for repairs.

No amount of booting up your iPhone can solve the problem if the lightning port is either dirty or faulty.

Try cleaning the lint out of the lightning port very carefully.
