FaceTime background removal issue on Mac Mini M4 2024

I am attemptint to use the FaceTime background removal feature on a Mac Mini M4 2024. Selecting the Background item under the green camera topbar icon, there are three selectable tabs. The video shows me, and correctly removes the background. I am able to switch between color gradients, landscape, and photo tabs, however, all three display the game gradients, no photos, and no + icon to add new photos. The red close button is also not functionning. Clicking any of the tabs, and close icon, produces an error sound.
