New password app on ipad missing saved passwords

I updated my ipad only to find the Settings view had changed!!! Eventually realised they had moved into a new app. Went to sign in to one of my accounts and it would not automatically insert my password. Checked the new app and a number of my saved accounts now say “password never saved”, which is incorrect. To gain access I had to reset password but it does not give me the option to save the password. Nightmare. What is going on. Thanks
