When Sequoia finally installed after five hours, it appeared to ask whether I want two factor authorization. I tried in vain to uncheck the box. I do !NOT! want two factor authorization. How can I turn this off?

I saw an indication that I might be able to turn this off if it's been less than two weeks. This just happened 10 minutes ago.

I REALLY need to turn this off.

2-factor authentication has nothing to doing with the operating system. It's a security measure for your Apple ID.

Some features in Sequoia may require it be enabled to function though.

If it has been recently enabled, you should receive an email indicating as much with a link to turn it off.

Click on the link in that email to turn it off.

With that said, 2-factor authentication is transparent in every day use. You should hardly ever encounter the need for a 2FA code in normal use.
