With the iPhone mirroring app opened, on the Mac click the iPhone Mirroring menu at the top, then on Settings, then check "Ask Every Time"

I have the same issue but it's a little bit trickier. I was in a different country when I updated my mac last so I set up IPhone mirroring on there and also want to change this setting of automatically authenticating because I have to type in my password on my lockscreen every time the screensaver comes on. Sadly iPhone mirroring is not supported in my home country yet (I didnt know this) and therefore I cannot open the app and change the settings. Help please

No not my iPhone Lock Screen but my Mac book screen saver. Whenever this is coming on it immediately required my password which is frankly quite annoying. The setting to turn this off is blocked because of the iPhone screens mirroring application which I cannot open because it’s not available in my current location (which is different from the location I last updated my MacBook) that’s the problem…

I'm confused. The app's Automatic authentication option on a Mac has no bearing on your iPhone's lock screen time out. Those are separate things.

If you iPhone is locking immediately, then go to the iPhone Settings and change the timeout in Settings ➜ Face ID & Passcode ➜ Require Passcode, try something other than "Not Immediately".

Do note, On iOS 18, if you have Apple Pay enabled, or Face ID turned on, it will no longer have any other options besides "require immediately". But again this is not directly tied to the Mirroring App on the Mac at all.
