Sent Emails returned days later, since update

Emails I’ve sent keep turn ping up in my email Inbox. Presumably this is useful for business people, but for me it’s annoying clutter. Could someone kindly outline the specific steps I need to take to prevent this? I’ve looked at General / Mail in Settings, but can’t see any feature that seems relevant. I want to disable the feature.
