can a fake pair of airpod max pass the serial number check and how is jt my fault if apple claim they are real

I bought some air pod max headphones and before I did I checked the serial number and it matched after the purchase I noticed that it won’t update if these are fake shouldn’t Apple replace them because they claimed they were authentic?

Serial numbers are unique to that specific product. Unless the serial number provided on said AirPod max is taken from a real one, the headset should be authentic. As for your question on should Apple replace them, Apple can, and will, deny anyone customer care if ToS is violated or the device in question isn't an authentic Apple product. You can only return it to the person that sold them to you. If your AirPod max is experiencing issues, you can contact Apple support at :https://getsupport.apple.com/
