You are not speaking to Apple. Apple is largely absent from this forum, except to moderate it. Even if you.were speaking to them, you would not get an iOS 17 update for an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus.

It's not hard to guess why, The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have just 2 GB of RAM. Every iPhone that can run iOS 17 has more – usually a lot more; and has a Neural Engine that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus lack. There is no upgrade to add the hardware that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus lack. Getting that hardware requires purchasing a newer iPhone.

iOS 15 is the end of the line for the iPhone 7 Plus. There will be no iOS 16, 17, or 18 update for that phone. It is not equipped with the same hardware as iPhones that can run those iOS versions.

As indicated, the people who make the rules for the UPI payment system have decided not to allow UPI payments on any version of iOS earlier than iOS 17. In effect, they have decided to abandon your iPhone.

Being not an option, take this as a good reason to upgrade to a newer model iPhone. Your model (iPhone 7 Plus) is old and obsolete. Note that Apple provides updates for 7 years, and then discontinues update support.

If Apple comes out with an iOS 15.8.4 bug fix or security patch release, I assume that the iPhone 7 Plus will be in line to get it. There won't be any more major iOS updates for that phone, which originally ran iOS 10.

UPI requires an iPhone XR or higher model.

You will need a new phone if you want to use UPI apps.

It is unfortunate that UPI has made the decision to abandon millions of users with older phones. They expect you to understand their decision.
