Bulk deleting apps is too time-consuming. Any better options than deleting each app individually?
The iPhone nowadays can come with 1TB of storage and after a few years, you end up with a lot of junk. I have around 20 apps that I want to remove. I do not just want to offload unused apps. How do I do this fast? Are there power-tools I am unaware of?
As I see it, app deletion can be optimized in iOS. I know three ways and I'll list them from super-duper slow to slow.
- Super-duper slow: As far as I know, if the app is not on your home screen, you have to remember the app category and then find the app in the App Library without search and long-tap to get the delete option.
- Super-slow: Alternatively you can add it to the home screen after using search and then long-tap & delete.
- Slow: You can use 'iPhone Storage' in Settings to get an alphabetical list of all apps and swipe to delete. This is the fastest slow way to remove a bunch of apps. This option has to be easier to find by the way. I think more people should be suggesting it on the Apple Community Forums because it is currently the fastest mass-deletion process available and isn't mentioned even in the official Support article.
I think having the option to select more than one app and mass-delete in the iPhone Storage settings would be a logical time-saver.
Otherwise if anyone comes to my question here because they want to delete a bunch of apps, definitely go to iPhone Storage in Settings, list the apps alphabetically and swipe the app to delete it.
