Searching within contacts no longer available on my iPhone SE

Searching contacts is a pretty normal thing. We've all been doing it since we had our first mobile phone. Now it is broken. It no longer works as a proper search function! This is very DISTRESSING.

Now after the latest update, when I search in my contacts it pulls up all the previous calls first and then below that it pulls up the contacts.

But it's not easy to tell anymore there's so many numbers and names and contacts and dates that I can no longer see my actual contact.

The search function no longer works the way it was supposed to.

If I want to search calls I can go into my call list!

Don't have a search calls in our contacts! That is the most RIDICULOUS thing APPLE HAS EVER DONE!

give us the ability to search contacts without all the potential options showing up in a big long list! When I type in a person's name that's the only thing I'm looking for!

I don't want a list of CALLS when I'm searching for CONTACTS!!!!!!!!!

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

And yet it happened AFTER the update AND I can see on my friend's phones that the exact same thing happened. If you don't need some of the info I provided you can skip it, but usually people say they want MORE details.

And if I was a wordsmith and had the proper words/questions for you, I'd be you. I am the one writing this. It took courage to do it. It appears you are trying to get me to change to what you want and I don't know why you'd be saying this.

If the fix is in my SETTINGS then this would be a tip I'm looking for help with. You have my situation. I have NO IDEA how to solve this problem. And I can't tell if you do. Telling me what I should have done doesn't help.

Why would you be asking me to backup my phone and now I should restore thew backup. This is not what I am asking at all.

I'm concerned because the update changed the way things work and it's not working well. The change is brutal.

Looking for solutions to the updated issue.
