Early adopter regretting my choice of email address/AppleID

My email address and Apple ID are first name at Mac dot com. Later, me dot com. Now, iCloud dot com. I'm losing my mind with the amount of email junk that I receive now. For years, I'd handle it by syphoning it off to junk, but my junk folder is now impossible to deal with. Problem is - or one of them - that it's also my Apple ID. The other thing is, getting people to start using another. And, it's not that I want to delete this address altogether (I'm not sure that I could as my aliases stem from the original?).

Any ideas for coping with this mess? It was cute 30 years ago but -

Apple now allows you change your iCloud address name ( the part before the @ symbol) if it's the only email associated with your account, from an iOS device.

If you only have an iCloud email address associated with your Apple Account

You can change your iCloud email address using a device with iOS 18.1 or later, and iPadOS 18.1 or later.

If your only email address associated with your account is an iCloud email address, you won’t see an option to Remove from Account. Instead, you’ll see an option to Change Email Address.
