MacBook Air typing '>' instead of ':'
Hello,
My new MacBook Air is typing > instead of :
I have reset the keyboard settings and the input source is ABC with no text replacements.
Can anyone help?

Go to system settings > keyboard > text input > edit > all input sources and make sure there is only one item on that list, and that the name of that item is ABC or US. Use the minus buttom at the bottom of the list to remove everything else.

No, ABC only matches the printing on the us English keyboard. For a Spanish keyboard, you need to use Latin American or Spanish

PS Are you sure you have an English keyboard and not a Spanish one? Getting > in place of : sounds like a Spanish keyboard (where : is made via shift period on the bottom row) while using the ABC input source, which is the wrong one for Spanish.

I am not sure about the keyboard and, in fact, bought the computer in Mexico. I thought if I changed the keyboard settings to ABC from LA it would function the same. Is that not the case?
