Canceling AppleCare and getting your money back

I bought an Apple Watch at Walmart and it included AppleCare as an additional option. However, I didn't like the watch and returned it. When I returned it, the attendant informed me that the money I paid would be refunded, but there was nothing they could do about the AppleCare part. I didn't use or activate AppleCare. I would like to know what I can do?
