M2 Macbook Air continually shows kernel panic!!! Apple should value this!!!

I’ve been using my M2 Macbook Air for almost a year now, and one recurring problem I have faced was when closing the lid of the laptop or forcing it into sleep, the screen would go black, trackpad would go unresponsive, and the laptop would restart and present me with a DCP panic crash report stating ‘No device added after powering on the rails’. This issue bothered me for a while but other than this, the mac ran fine and I didn’t use it all that much to pay attention to a random restart issue, until I started using it daily and found out the cause of the problem which was putting it into sleep. I realised this was a bigger issue than I expected, and this caused me to reach out to Apple and I will explain the process I was taken through to try and resolve this issue.

I am deeply disappointed with Apple. My M2 MacBook Air started experiencing frequent abnormal restarts one year after purchase. After numerous tests, I found that the issue was with the computer itself, not due to user error, and the problem lies with the display. I contacted Apple support six months ago and also took the laptop to an Apple Store for diagnostic testing, but neither approach helped. I can easily reproduce the issue and have provided the evidence to Apple support, who forwarded it to their engineers. However, the response from the engineers was disheartening. They continue to take the company's side, insisting that consumers pay to repair faulty equipment. Many people, due to the complicated process and time consumption, choose to buy a new MacBook instead of reporting the issue to Apple Support. This creates a situation where Apple claims that there aren't enough cases to push forward a repair program. In effect, this forces consumers to spend extra money! I am extremely disappointed and no longer plan to purchase any Apple products if this is how they handle customer issues.

If you see the no device after powering on the rails this can be a hardware issue, on the M2 MacBook Air this sometimes happens. All you can do and other people who are encountering this is keep reporting the issue to Apple.

For now, you can try and boot the Mac in the safe mode to see if the kernel panics keep happening in the safe mode. If they don't keep on happening in the safe mode they are most likely caused by an external piece of software, you might want to evaluate the external software installed to your Mac
