Search feature is missing in Photos app on my iPad Pro
I can’t find Search any more. It used to be a few items below Photos.

On an iPad with iPadOS 18 you will find the search in the upper right corner while viewing the Library or a collection. Just tap the looking glass:
It is similar to the procedure described in the links for the iPhone, posted by MrHoffman.
