ipadOS 18.1.1 Auto-lock grayed out

Since updating to iPadOS 18.1.1 my screen timeout is preset to short timeout. The option “Auto-lock” is grayed out. Of course most menu items have been scrambled.

Is there a way to adjust the display timeout in 18.1.1?

iPad, iPadOS 18

Assuming that your iPad is not centrally managed by an Enterprise/Business or Educational Establishment, your iPad's auto-lock will be fixed at two minutes if you have enabled Low Power mode:

Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode - set to OFF

You might also check that Date & Time and TimeZone are also correctly set for your iPad - as these settings are known to cause various functional issues if incorrectly configured:

Settings > General > Date & Time

I dont know why apple devs think they can change our private settings, i paid a fortune for this ipad, it is my ipad, i am not making payments i paid in full, i should be able to adjust my settings on my private device, these devs are getting more and more invasive and controlling, not every user is a kid. I am a mature adult and i dobt want some 20 some year olds telling me what i can or can not do on my own device. I cant change my settings because its grayed out i am disabled and i dont need this. If they are going to try to control our property then i am dobe supporting their brand. I am not some child that needs their input on how i should use a device i paid for with my money. This is very upsetting.
