Screen time passcode change did not sync with child’s phone

My child figured out the screen time password. I changed the password in my device (SE) as I have done a few times already, but this time he can still access screen time settings with the old password in his device (iPhone 13). I’ve tried switching off screen time controls and setting a new password several times and installing updates but the problem persists. This makes parental controls useless!
