Can I install OS Yosemite on (2012) Old Mac using my 2022 Mac with flash drive?

Old Mac starts up to flashing grey folder with question mark or spinning globe with question mark. Is it possible to install Yosemite, which I think is the correct OS for old Intel Mac, using flash drive, terminal and my newer 2022 Mac which is running Sequoia OS? I downloaded the installer from Apple App Store and transferred to 64 GB flash drive. Yosemite won't download to my newer Mac. Ideas?

iMac 27″, macOS 15.1

To perform this action will require booting from a Bootable Installer

The Bootable Installer can Only be performed on an Apple Computer

This will have to be performed from a Qualifying Computer to run the version of OS X / macOS to be made on the Bootable Installer.

Example : Bootable Installer of Yosemite would have to be done on a computer that Qualifies to run Yosemite

Notation: If the computer being used to perform this action is Too New qualify to run the version of OS X / macOS - this computer can’t be used.

Alternative is, to gain access to a Qualifying Apple Computer from a family member, friend or associate.

More than likely the internal hard drive has failed, but there can sometimes be other reasons for the blinking folder with question mark failure.

Try booting into Internet Recovery Mode using Command + Option + R to attempt to access the macOS 10.15 Catalina online installer. Unfortunately some Macs may still only boot to the online installer for the older OS which originally shipped with the computer from the factory regardless of the keys used for Recovery Mode.
