While video recording screen turns black.

When attempting to play videos taken on my phone the first frame displays and then the screen goes black. This occurs for both newly taken videos and historical.

When attempting to record videos the screen is black. Both forward and outward facing. After entering camera mode the camera works fine, but switching to video mode blacks out the screen.
