New features missing after updating my iPhone 15 Plus

Because you have an iPhone 15 Plus which cannot support Apple Intelligence. You would need an iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max to get Apple Intelligence. Apple Intelligence requires an iPhone with 8GB of RAM. iPhone 15 Plus doesn't have that.

You are mistaken. ONLY iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max support Apple Intelligence, plus all the new iPhone 16 models.

The first bullet in What you Need says the following:

Apple Intelligence requirements for iPhone, iPad, and Mac

• iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 15 Pro Max; any iPad with A17 Pro or M1 and later; Mac with M1 or later

As lobsterghost1 has already answered......the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus do not support Apple Intelligence.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro max do.
