Apple Software Update not working

I installed iTunes, Quick Time, Safari. But when I went to Apple Software Updates through start-->All Programs the results are
1 A message box is displayed with a progress bar the message is "Please wait while Windows configures Apple Software Update"
2 Then a another message box with the message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable".This message box contains a drop down combo box to the left of it with a button to specify the path to the necessary resource. If the Ok button is clicked a processes is started to search for the resource But it again ends with same result saying that the necessary resource is unavailable and to Click OK to try again OR Cancel. When clicked Cancel a message box comes up saying that the installation package AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi was not to be found

I have cleaned the temp folder and deleted all files that I can find, but am unable to complete uninstallation of Bonjour and AppleSoftwareUpdate.

I've seen suggestions to use Microsoft Windows Installer Cleanup, but this is no longer available from Microsoft.

Without the msi files, how do I remove these programs so that I can re-install iTunes. There were no issues until the latest update attempted to install and failed.
