I pay for iCloud storage. However, I use Gmail for email. I am receiving messages on Gmail that I will stop receiving emails soon because I don’t have enough storage. There is a link to buy storage. Do I need both?

The storage provided by Google and iCloud are totally unrelated. If the messages are from Google, you will need to determine what is using the 15GB provided with a Gmail account. I recently helped a user that had the same error from Google, in her case the storage was being used because she had chosen to upload her iPhone photos to Google, and that was using the bulk of her storage space.

If you have access to a computer I might suggest you invest in a external drive and forget about Google and icloud.
