frozen on hello screen during setup after update to new iphone 16

got a new iphone 16 with esim and was transfering everything to the new phone from my old iphone 12 with a actual sim, now it seemed everything was fine but then it said i had to do a update and two hours after update started on the new phone it was really hot so i shut it down when i turned it back on later it was stuck on the hello screen where it flashes hello in different languages and if i try to open the screen it will flash to the lockscreen but to quickly to use the code how do i fix the issues

I had this same issue when trying to upgrade from iPhone 12 to iPhone 14. It transferred my physical sim to an eSIM. Then it kept getting hot and wouldn't do the update correctly. Then swipe up wasn't working as it reverted back to the hello screen too quickly. Force restart didn't work either. Here is my solution that worked:

Press volume UP then press volume DOWN, then hold POWER button. Keep hold of it even when the apple logo appears. Feels like a minute of holding it down. a new screen should pop up and it should show a laptop logo with a cable. Attach your iPhone to your computer that has iTunes. This will give you the option to update, restore or recover.

I did the update and then recovery. My phone is now working as it should. I hope this helps.
