AOL mail not syncing to iPhone after 18.1.1 update
I have used the iPhone Mail app on my sequence of iPhones since 2010. I currently have an iPhone SE3. Like the size.
My main email service is AOL. The combo has worked beautifully until, it seems, the recent auto-install of the new 18.1.1 iOS. The last sync in my iPhone Mail app is Nov 25.
I just discovered the issue today, Dec 2. Yes, I have Internet connectivity. Yes, the AOL service is fine. I can see my current mail on the iPhone AOL app and on my laptop. No, I have not changed any mail settings.
I have tried a simple restart of the phone. No go.
Exploring other Apple community options, I do see that deleting the AOL account and adding it back is the nuclear option. I'm not ready to do that, especially as I experimented with sending a couple of "test" emails to my wife from my phone. While they originally got hung up in the Outbox, they did go through, and she got them. I also sent one from my laptop, and like the others, it appeared in my Sent mail on my iPhone. I also decided to forward to my wife one of the emails that are currently in my iPhone Inbox. Again, she got it, and it too shows up in my iPhone Sent folder. Weird!
So, it seems that I can send but not receive.
I also noted in Settings that my iPhone Mail app lists 2 accounts: AOL and iCloud. I don't use iCloud for mail. I also noted that iCloud had new terms that I needed to agree to. So, it seems something has changed with iCloud functionality. Unlike the "delete" option with my AOL account, I see that the only thing I do with the iCloud account is "sign out." Before doing that to see if this is the interference, I decided to ping the community for advice. Thanks.
