Were you using iCloud to sync photos? If yes, they are in iCloud. You can view them on iCloud.com in the Photos app. Otherwise it would help if you told us how you do plan on viewing them or where you plan on keeping the files. You will need some kind of hardware and so far all you have mentioned is a broken device.
