New iOS update wont allow markup in photos of a screenshot

I routinely have to teach my colleagues how to use certain functions on apps we all use. Normally I would screenshot my phone and add arrows and texts to the picture of the screenshot to show them how to navigate the features. On the new iOS update, the markup function only grabs the actual picture in the screen shot..not any of the toolbars or words. For instance, if i was going to show you how to markup a photo by sending you a screen shot of myself marking up a photo..it only pulls the picture,not any of the tool bar functions. Is there a setting embedded somewhere to help with this?

After pinching in with two fingers, you may have to drag the image up with two fingers to see the whole toolbar.

PhantomSixActual ~ Perhaps I haven't understood the problem, but below is a screenshot of editing a screenshot in iOS 18.1.1. Three screenshots were taken via Backtap which runs a shortcut which executes a 'Take screenshot' action. Here's the third screenshot:

No, that’s not what I needed. Imagine if I took a screenshot of me editing a picture. That screenshot should have the picture and the toolbars on it in the image. When you try to markup that screenshot, only the image is pulled. Not all the other stuff.

Like this. If I try and markup this screenshot, it only allows me to see the picture, not everything else on the bottom. I need to teach people with arrows and texts on how to use the toolbar step by step.

You know…I tried that..and it wasn’t working at all. Then of course after I read your reply I went back and sure enough it zoomed out. Lol. Thanks for your time.
