Ibook G4 Batterie

I have 3 batteries for my ibook G4. One is the original and the other two are from other ibooks g4's. Mine is a 2005 ibook. The other two batteries are from a 2002 and 2003 ibook. The model numbers are different on all of them but they all fit into my ibook. They are are all 10.8 volts. The original one to it charge up fine. But i don't want to burn up my ibook if something is different with the other two batteries. Like wire different inside the batteries. The one is new old stock and never been open or charged before. I know the two are dead. Well thanks for the help.

I'm a bit confused. Is "new old stock" the one that works? I'm surprised it is not dead. Rechargeable batteries are chemical devices that decay with time whether they are used or not.

The MacTracker Database (free in the Mac App Store or at http://mactracker.ca) shows notebook battery specs. It shows three iBook G4 variants with two screen size options each. There battery specs stay the same, differing only by screen size:

  • 12.1-inch models: 50-watt-hour (A1061) (12.1-inch)
  • 14.1-inch models: 61-watt-hour (A1080) (14.1-inch)

Obviously, a larger capacity is needed for the large-screen versions. What part numbers are on the batteries you have?

The new old stock seem it won't charge up. it will so that it is charging and then about 5 minutes i get a battery symbol with a X in it. It tells me that the battery won't charge. The other two charged right up. So two out of 3 work and that ain't bad. Both batteries run for about little over a hour and 15 minutes. That is just me listing to music and playing games. so thanks for the help.
